These knee pads are great. They have enough padding in them to be protect your knees when when falling or just resting on your knees in the snow. They also help keep your knees warm when kneeling on the snow.
They do slide down a little if you have larger thighs but don't roll down and become uncomfortable.

The knee pads fit me very well and I hardly noticed them while snowboarding. I never once thought about my knees on my trip either, which is a true testament to how well they kept my knees protected AND insulated against the cold ground.
